About Me:

I am a crazy college chick, looking for a good time and an even better grade.

I am in a junior college for the next semester and a half. Once that's over, I'll be that much closer to getting an english degree! Not that I really need one to be a writer, but it'd be nice to have.

The Aroma of Fruity Men

Craig Fergeson, hows that for fun? This is my early youtube friday, since I wont be here tomorrow to do one. I'll be in Prim? I don't know, it's some shopping town out in Nevada. Go figure, I'm going shopping. :) Happy you tube friday, everyone, and have a great weekend!

empty

I've been wondering where my commentors got to the past few weeks. At first I thought it was no big deal that no one was reading, I can understand burning out on blogs sometimes, but my site meter claims more than a 150 people visit my blog weekly. Why don't the lurkers comment? There's nothing to fear, I'm all for lurker's comments. :( Perhaps it's the holidays that leaves my comment pages so empty. Where is everyone??

In other news, I got an -A on my history midterm. I was the only one with an A in the class. Surprise surprise, it was an essay. That didn't mean it wasn't a frikken hard essay though, I thought for sure I'd get no better than a C. I proved myself wrong and it feels good!

In even better news, a fortune cookie predicted that my patients would pay off. (or was it patience? I don't know, the non hospital one) I know what you're thinking: McPaige being Patient? When did that happen? I agree, I hate taking things slow when it comes to the anxiety of starting a new romance, you might call it. The problem is it's goin slow. I don't like slow, but I've realised that slow is best. When I try to get through the beggining bits fast then everything goes to crap. So maybe his way is better. I'll try to keep the fortune cookie's message in mind.

No specifics as you've noticed about Mr. take it slow. It's because I'm trying to take it slow as well, and not jump all around this guy like he's a messiah before he starts walking on water, if you get my meaning. (blasphemy, anyone?) Needless to say he might remain nameles for a time.

6 weird things

Each player of this game starts with the "6 weird things about you." People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Only six? Geez that's going to be hard for me! :)

Here's my 6 weird things:
1. I spend saturday nights with my two favorite guys: Ben and Jerry.
2. When I'm only reading one book I start to panic till I can find another one to get into. I am currently reading Life of Pi, A Horse and His Boy (narnia), and Eragon.
3. When I get into a T.V. series like Crossing Jordan or Xena or even Dead Like Me, I dream about it. A lot.
4. I hate the feel of socks against carpet. The texture just bothers me to no end.
5. I keep up with four of my own blogs on different websites. Why? I don't really know.
6. My hands are bigger than most guys' hands. It freaks them out more than it freaks me out.

I tag: Pheonix Hearse, That Shadow my likeness, Rain in the Sky, Que-Sera-Sara, Monkey Lover, and Izzy

geeze louise

I think my class was cancelled. I waited at the door for what seemed like an eternity before looking at the clock- wondering why I was that only one there- and realized it was past 11:00. Enough past eleven to make me wish I hadn't been to sick to go to the class on monday. I'm thinking that's when he told everyone that todays class was cacelled. Fan-flippin-tastic.

But I still have to hang out at school and wait for my appt with the stupid school secretary. I have the eerie feeling that she's going to give me some bad news. . . I am going to her to see if I'm taking the right classes to transfer, so there is some potentialy damgaging business there.

In other news, I had a weird dream last night where three guys from my chinese class were all wooing me aggresively. Since I'm on decongestants, I wake up at random intervals, so I got to have several dreams with these guys. What's really weird is that each time the same guy won out. Does that mean something?

Happy thanksgiving tomorrow!

YAY! 100 posts! Did I spell 'hundreth' right?

I might have done something more grand, more '100th'-ie, if I wasn't recovering from the cold from hell. Seriously, ya'll, i have been dying for the past few days. I was telling people, "common cold my ass," thinking that was pretty witty. But it turned out to be true. Apparently I didn't drain right and now I have a sinus infection. But it's still from hell. The cure is almost worse than the disease. The decongestant they gave me is anti-sleep, while the pain medication they gave me makes me extremely tired. So it's like I'm tired all the time, but I can never seem to get any sleep. . . grrr... This is a great time to be celebrating not only my 100th post, but also thanksgiving! Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy the pumpkin pie atleast.

Only a few more days till turkey day! I'm thankful that this semester is nearly over. And that my cat and dog fight over me, it boosts my ego.

frenchatize me capn'

I've made all my words lately, especially the mundane ones, sound a little french. Mostly it has been used for complaints and declerations. Example: "Oh boy, I do have a head-ache-ay. And it's a whopp-are aussi." People tend to look at me like 'right... well get yourself a tylenol then.' But I think it's fun. It makes life interesting.

Ba-dang-ay...

This has nothing to do with the mormon that I met on campus that is fluent in french. Once he called me up wondering why I was on his phone, and if he missed our date or not (he didn't btw) I kind of let him go and his frenchie warys. That boy acted too much like a child prodigy: book smart, large vocabulary, with one of those higher authority additudes, but lacking in social skill and street smarts. *sigh* Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to be single. It's much better than being in a bad relationship. But sometimes I wonder... Am I staying single on purpose? Am I sabotaging relationships before they start so I can keep with the thrill of the chase?

Sometimes I wonder if every piece of advice I give is a sabotage. My first instinct in a bad situation is to get out, not to fix it, or live with it. So when my friends have realtionship trouble, I tell them that the guy sounds like a real jerk and they need to drop him like a rotten tomato. In fact, I've never met a couple that I haven't at one time or another thought they they should break up. I see corruption in every relationship(romantic ones), yet I tell myself I want one and wonder why I can't seem to make my way into one. Geez.

I need to go study now, no more ranting. But I do think I'll be a hermit.

the further that I go...

...the harder it is to get back.

On topic that is. I have the worst time with distracting myself lately. Yesterday I was studying for a really important, really hard mid-term that I have tomorrow. Well all afternoon I found little things that kind of needed doing, and did them at random points throughout the studying. Then of course it was hard to get refocused.

Today I've sunk to a whole new low. I haven't even started studying yet and I'm already online and doing blogs. Plus, a few minutes ago, I had to call the counselors office and make an appt. I really didn't want to, so I picked up my phone and called my sister instead without even thinking. That's the kind of pro I am: I just avoid things automatically.

wOot. I think I'll be the first one to have to buy my teacher dinner if I kep this up. Cuz you know, the first person that messes up their presentation today has to buy him dinner at chopsticks... I hope he was bluffing.

mr. lamp shade

Sorry, I have veeb detained an a few things the past few days. New dog, pipes under room leaking, volunteering for hospice, and midterms. All within a week. wOot? I think not... but here's a fun little meme that I got tagged for:

1. Explain what ended your last relationship.
He's a stalker/weirdo. I never considered that we were in a relationship anyway, but him and his delusional ass made us into a happy little couple that would get married and have a million babies together. That wasn't working for me. I'm in and out of reality enough, I can't go dating a guy like that.

Plus he creeped me out near the end.

2. When was the last time you shaved?
Hmmm... good question... Last wednesday I believe.

3. What were you doing this morning at 8 a.m.?
Sleeping in. Or trying to anyways.

4. What were you doing 15 minutes ago?
feeding the cat. He's eating on the now vast space of concrete that used to be my bedroom's floor. Stupid leaky pipes...

5. Are you any good at math?
ugh, NO! Not only do I suck at it, I really detest it as well. I think I must have failed every math class from about 3rd grade till about 9th grade. After that I managed to skid by with C's and D's. It's mostly the homework: I never did it. Ever. It was the rebel in me.

6. Your prom night?
Only a fifth year druggie head senior asked me, so I ended up taking my older brother. *cough* LAME *cough* I know, but we had fun anyway.

7. Do you have any famous ancestors?
My sister mentioned Henry 8th, so I'll have to use another to be original. My uncle is Chaucer. Cantebury Tales and what not. Unfortunately, I don't think he looked anything like Paul Betany in "A Knight's Tale."

8. Have you had to take a loan out for school?
Not yet, but I'm still in cheapy old comm college. Wait a year, and ask me again.

9. Do you know the words to the song on your Myspace profile?
Hells yeah! MeatLoaf Bat out of Hell. I'll challenge anyone to NOT know that song. And if they don't, then they'renot rockers. Period. ;)

10. Last thing received in the mail?
The best most cutest pictures ever in the form of a thanksgiving card from my sister!

11. How many different beverages have you had today?
Flavored water, fresca, and milk

12. Do you ever leave messages on people's answering machine?
Yes. And I try to make it funny if the occasion is right.

13. Whom did you lose your CONCERT virginity to?
N'SYNC!!! Oh yeah.

14. Do you draw your name in the sand when you go to the beach?
pictures are worth a thousand words:

15. What was the most painful dental procedure you have had?
The word dental is pain enough.

16. What is out your back door?
A brick patio and grille with a fiberglass bench.

17. Any plans for Friday night?
Last night you mean? We went to Island burgers for dinner and then played a bit with the dog.

18. Do you like what the ocean does to your hair?
Yes. It makes me want to shave my head.

19. Have you ever received one of those big tins of 3 different popcorns?
I haven't personally, no. But it's no big loss, I don't like popcorn anyway. :P

20. Have you ever been to a planetarium?
Maybe... I can't rememver

21. Do you re-use towels after you shower?
Yes.

22. Some things you are excited about?
getting close to the end of my stupid history class!!!

23. What is your favorite flavor of JELLO?
the non-jello flavor

24. Describe your keychain(s).
A pewter skull and crossed swords that says "Pirates of the Caribbean", and a little red and silver plastic one that says "I do what the voices in my head tell me to"

25. Where do you keep your change?
In my back pocket and subsequently in the washing machine till I find them there and put them back in my pocket.

26. What kind of winter coat do you own?
Like I need one. I just wear sox and a scarf with a light jacket if it gets cold.

27. What was the weather like on your graduation day?
Kind of cloudy. It wasn't really a good day.

28. Do you sleep with the door to your room open or closed?
B.D. (before dog) I slept with it cracked open so the cat could get in and out. Now I have to keep it closed so the dog doesn't come in.

I tag Rain, Shadow my Likeness, Pheonix Hearse, Izzy, and whoever else reads this

i don't want to wait

Yesterday, Clint Eastwood reminded me to vote.

In response, I told him, "Thanks, mr. eastwood, but I did a mail in ballot a few weeks ago."

Unfortunately Mr. Eastwood could not reply, for he was a simple recording. Oh well,

quoth the paigen

My school's holding a contest for poetry and short stories. Minimal 3 poems, one short story 15 pages. Prize money: 100 smackaroos. I hope to take home atleast some mula, I am submitting 3 of my best poems. The short story is another thing. I don't exactly write short stories. I once tried to write a short story. Four years and 415 pages later I'm nearly finished with it (lol not exaggerating for once). But yesterday I wrote my first short story. Six pages in all, very suspensful, very exhilerating. I had my inspirations in Poe and Hawthorne, mostly Poe. Here's an excerpt from my story, tell me what you think:

--"Know thyself, poet, and thou shalt be saved."

--The resolute voice echoed in my blind head as it would in a cavern. I was not alleviated, alternately my insides churned in fear and denial. A demon from hell or guardian of heaven had sought me out to settle my sins whilst I still breathed! The terror that gripped me nearly forced me to collapse upon myself and crumple to the floor. I did not, nor did I turn to face my maker. My eyes rose to the top shelf of the book case that towered over me. An eye less bust, shattered into naught but a neck and a stern brow, cast it's sockets down upon me.
It must be all a dream.

--"There are those who live in dreams, and those who face reality. Choose now, wandering mortal, which thou wilt be."

I thought it was dreadfully frightening when I wrote it last night. It's not scary today, but I still find it to be kind of creepy and pretty good. But then again, I'm biased. The real problem is I don't like my title for it: "Therein He Haunts." It's sounds stupid an cheesy, yet I only have two more days to think of another. I might end up sticking with it, since I can't really come up with an alternative. Any suggestions?

Otherwise, today we went to a foster home for doggie and visited our possible future dog: a little jack russel terrier named Charlie Bear. He's adorable, very loving and calm. Mom is kind of freaked out by the bit of pink beneath his eye, but she agrees that he's really sweet. It'll be a nice addition to the household I think. I would have preferred my Rottweiler puppy though...
